Lifestyle Newborn Photographer | Teddy
As a Lifestyle Newborn Photographer in the Albany area, one of my favorite things about my job is meeting first time parents. There is something so undeniably magical about bringing your first baby into this crazy world and photographing families during this time means I get to experience it over and over again! I can’t get enough of the way Mom looks at her newborn; unable to look away. Or the way Dad admires Mom; as though he’s seeing her for the first time. I could photograph newborns and their families all day, every day if their parents would let me!
When I first arrived at Rachel and Michael’s home a couple of Sundays ago, I was struck by how quiet it was. My three children range in age from 16 months to 5 years old and we have an 11 year old maltese who barks at everything that comes within 15 feet of our front door, so quiet is not something I experience regularly! Sweet Teddy who was just three weeks old at the time had just been fed and was sleeping peacefully. Stella, their adorable pup and Teddy’s big sister (see her pic below!) greeted me happily at the front door with a few sniffs and zero barks. It was immediately clear how in love this little family was with their new addition. Even Stella wanted in on all the excitement and followed us around from room to room as we took pictures.
Teddy was awake for our entire session and could not have been better behaved for his first experience in front of the camera! He was just happy to be in Mom’s arms and look around at everything, including my camera. He loved being swaddled. It was one of the most peaceful and relaxed sessions I’ve photographed and I’m so in love with how all the pictures came out. Thank you Rachel and Michael for inviting me into your home to document this incredibly special milestone in your lives!
