Lifestyle Maternity | The Abramo Family

When I arrived at the Abramo’s front door a couple of weeks ago as their lifestyle maternity photographer, I was greeted by a friendly dog and two overly excited preschoolers.  Finley, the Abramo’s pup, couldn’t wait to smell me and Capri and Luke, the excited preschoolers, couldn’t wait to talk to me.  One of my favorite things about in home lifestyle sessions is how relaxing and fun they are for the kiddos.  They are so excited to have someone come over who is interested in them and seeing all that makes their home and family so special.  They waste no time hiding from my camera in an environment they know and are comfortable in.  Grabbing my hand, pulling me from room to room, showing me their cars, favorite barbie, the new baby’s room, etc.  In home lifestyle sessions are all about spending time together as a family and documenting the true love and connection family members have for each other in a relaxed atmosphere.  And when the kids are relaxed and having fun, mom and dad are relaxed and having fun!

When Kristina and I first discussed her in home session she wanted to emphasize the love her family of four has for one another while doing some of their day to day activities; as well as document the anticipation and excitement of a little brother on the way.  We started the session in the master bedroom and I hardly had to say anything to get them to laugh; baby brother started kicking and Capri and Luke couldn’t stop giggling!  Next I took photos of Capri and Luke in their bedrooms individually; allowing their personalities to shine and for them to show me what made them each so special.  I love the many facial expressions of Capri; four year olds can have so many personalities, all in a matter of minutes!  We moved downstairs and read a book about becoming a big brother and sister and had a tickle fight on the family couch.  As his mom puts it, Luke has “smiling eyes” and I couldn’t agree more!  Just looking at his eyes you can feel the big grin on his face!  We finished up with an all out crazy dance party to some of my favorite music, Disney, of course!  When Dad is getting into it with donkey kicks, you know everyone is having a great time 🙂

Thank you Abramo Family for inviting me into your home.  I had an amazing time sharing in your love and family traditions for a couple of hours on a cold Saturday morning in February.  I hope you will always treasure these images and that special time before you family of four became a family of five.
