Julie and Michael’s Kentucky Derby Wedding at The Glen Sanders Mansion was absolutely perfect! I was so honored to photograph this great couple tie the knot just over a month ago! When Julie first contacted me about photographing her wedding last spring, I knew it was going to be an amazing experience with her. We first met up last June for an engagement session. We had all of 20 minutes before it started raining on us! We continued to take pictures in the rain and then changed things up to grab a couple more photos indoors/undercover. I knew at that point I couldn’t have asked for a more flexible, easy-going bride! Fast forward to Julie and Michael’s wedding day, May 6, 2017! Julie and I were stalking the weather the week before and it looked like more rain! And not just rain, but inches of rain! (You know it’s bad when their measuring it!) Julie and I had a number of plan B’s in place but we got lucky and ended up with the perfect overcast day for beautiful bridal party photos at Cannalside in Little Falls. We honestly couldn’t have been luckier at 4pm that afternoon!
Julie and Michael are two of the nicest people you will ever meet and they are adorable together! You just want them to have the perfect day, because they so clearly deserve it! Throughout the entire day, neither of them stressed (or at least you couldn’t tell!), Julie was one of the sweetest brides I’ve had the pleasure of working with, and they put on one heck of a #kentuckyderbrossy party! Every single detail was perfect; from the fascinators the bridal party wore, the groom’s socks, to tables named after Kentucky Derby winners, horseshoe centerpieces, and a Mint Julep cocktail. Guests were even invited to watch the Kentucky Derby from their seats before dinner. Julie’s Uncle Joe concluded a magical day with an awesome fireworks display (in the rain, no less!). Julie and Michael are truly a beautiful couple, and celebrated their love with a beautiful wedding! Thank you for bringing me along for an amazing day. Congratulations Julie and Michael!
