Fredrik | Delmar Newborn Photographer

I first met the Pesta’s two years ago when I photographed Veronica for her first birthday.  I was so excited for them when Erica told me this past fall that they’d be welcoming a second baby in April.  And I was honored when she asked me to photograph their family for the first time as a family of four at their home in Delmar.  The Pesta’s are my absolute favorite clients; they hate looking at the camera!  They’ve even told me this (and more than once!).  They avoid it so well that it looks like I’m sneaking up on them and documenting their lives.  Which is (spoiler!) my objective!  Big sister Veronica felt a little bit differently, but when you are three you can pretty much get away with anything you want on camera!  Of course we did capture the traditional photo for Grandma of everyone looking and smiling at me.  But photographing this family was magic.  They are why I love photography.  Their love and connection for one another.  It was almost as if I wasn’t even there.  And that’s exactly how it should be.

Fredrik was very relaxed for his first photo shoot.  He was absolutely adorable, and perfectly content letting big sister Veronica share (read: steal) the spotlight in many of the photos.  He was awake for most of his session and dozed off just as I was packing up my camera bag.  Documenting a new addition to your family is my absolute favorite thing to photograph.  It does not get any more real or special than bringing a new life into the world!  Thank you Erica, Justin, and Veronica for welcoming me into your home to capture this special time in your lives!  Before you know it Fredrik will be walking and talking!  I hope these images always bring you back to the first few days with him.  He is a beautiful little boy!
