My little sister is getting married this year! Congratulations Maura and Sam! As her Engagement Photographer, I’m excited to share a few highlights from her NYC Engagement Session! Back in April I took the train from Albany to NYC one Friday evening in order to photograph Maura and Sam first thing Saturday morning. We woke up to a beautiful, sunny day and spent the morning and part of the afternoon wandering around Central Park, Penn Station, and other parts of Manhattan. Check out this interactive map of Central Park Maura and I used to plan her session. It’s pretty cool and I learned a lot about Central Park! The first photo we took was where Sam proposed to Maura on the west side of Central Park. We finished up at Penn Station before Maura helped me back onto my train to head home. I was in the city for less than 24 hours, but had so much fun with my sister and future brother-in-law!
Maura and Sam met in the Fall of 2013 while working in the same building in downtown Albany as NYS fellows. They shared a mutual friend and ran into each other a couple of times at different Governor Events before sharing their first kiss outside of Justin’s on Lark! Unfortunately for me they decided to move to NYC about a year and a half after I moved to Albany. Sam moved to Manhattan during the summer of 2015 and Maura joined him shortly after. In April of 2016 Sam walked Maura home from work one evening and pulled her aside just before the West 79th street exit of Central Park, dropped to one knee, and asked for her hand! Following his proposal, Sam surprised Maura with 40 of their closest friends and family at the Manhattan Cricket Club to celebrate! They will be married on August 12, 2017 at the Hamilton College Chapel in Clinton, NY, where Maura was an undergrad. These two are adorable together and I love them both so much! Congratulations guys! I can’t wait for your big day this summer!
